Just over 200 years old, Tuxford Windmill is a privately owned working mill using wind-power only, one of very few windmills in the country which is run commercially to fund it’s on going restoration. The grains it uses for milling are mostly grown by the Turner family who farm in South Lincolnshire and are members of the British Soil Association. The rest of the milling grains are British grown and are sourced through a grain merchant. You can taste the flour and the bread rolls, cakes, scones and tea cakes that the Windmill’s tearoom bakes on site for enjoyment with a refreshing drink, a bowl of their own home-made soup and a little more if you are feeling quite hungry. The Windmill sits in beautiful grounds, home to the owners who live on site with their lovely border collie dog, who is always game to fetch the ball if it’s thrown far enough for a good sprint!
Open 10am – 4pm every day (except Tuesday & Wednesday)
